Business Administration (BA): Emphasis in Management

"The unique experience of St. Andrews' small campus environment with big campus amenities was a perfect balance. I can't imagine attending any other school for my undergraduate degree."

Amy Thran
Class of 2000

For students interested in a management focus, particular emphasis is placed on human relations, organizations and their structure, and delegation of authority.

Organizational Behavior integrates the study of social psychology and management. It applies knowledge from these areas in order to understand behavior of individuals working together in groups. Topics include leadership and power, group decision-making, communication, conflict resolution, motivation, and group socialization and development.

Human Resources Management (HRM) helps the student to become fluent in employment procedures, personnel administration, analysis of personnel programs and policies, recruiting, interviewing developing, and maintaining an effective and satisfied work force. HRM also stresses communication and relationships as they effect productivity, organizational effectiveness, and the satisfaction of personal objectives.

Application of marketing principles and case analysis to solving complex marketing problems combines the areas of marketing and management. Managerial areas include product management, pricing strategies, promotion, and distribution management.
