SAU Pipe Band members show strong in Charleston Indoor

Charleston, S.C. - Four members of the St. Andrews University Pipe Band competed for the first time in Grade III solo competition during the Charleston Indoor event held Saturday.

Students Stuart and Dalton Marshall joined community members Evan and Patrick Johnson in competing at the event.

Stuart Marshall was the overall winner in Grade III with two scores of above grade level, earning a $150 stipend for a summer piping school. He also received first place in March and Stathspey and Reel.

Evan Johnson was second in March with Dalton Marshall third.

Patrick Johnson was first in Piobaireachd and third in Stathspey and Reel.

“Congratulations to these two sets of brothers who all did well in their first outing in Grade III, a good start for 2013,” said Pipe Major Bill Caudill. “We are very proud of the development and achievements of these great young folks.”
