St. Andrews wins first IHSA Hunter Seat show of the season

Laurinburg, N.C. - The St. Andrews University Hunter Seat team won the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) show at the Suzanne Mott Dansby Arena of the St. Andrews Equestrian Center on Sept. 29.

Finishing second in the points was North Carolina State University.

Katie Hansen finished first in Open Fences A while Caitlyn Woychik was second in Novice Over Fences A.

Third place finishes were contributed by Keli Van den Heuval in Intermediate Over Fences C, Nikki Napoleon in Intermediate Over Fences B, Ella Fullerton in Intermediate Flat A, and Kim Graves in Open Fences B. Alexandra Fullerton was sixth in Novice Over Fences B.

The Dansby Arena will see action again this weekend as St. Andrews hosts a pair of Western Shows Saturday and Sunday. For more information, contact the Equestrian Center at 910-276-7771.

The Hunter Seat Team will next compete on Oct. 14 at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
