St. Andrews Hunter Seat Team reserve champion at weekend event

Laurinburg, N.C. – The St. Andrews Presbyterian College Hunter Seat Team A earned reserve champion status at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Holiday Tournament of Champions competition held at the St. Andrews Equestrian Center Saturday.

Delaware Valley College earned 28 points to earn champion status. St. Andrews Team A had 27 points with Virginia Intermont College’s Team A finishing a close third with 26 points. Virginia Tech and Virginia Intermont Team B completed the top five. St. Andrews Team B finished eighth.

St. Andrews riders were Audrey Bolte, Katie Hansen, Sami Cram, Kali Cram, Jenn Callahan, Miranda Wright, Blake Liljestrand, Audrey Hayden, Rob Jacobs, Kayla McBath, Andrew Michael, Jodi Brinn, Alie McGraw, Jessica Bitz-Richards, and Shiloh Kozlowski. Ashley Duda coaches the Hunter Seat Team.

“We had a strong competition and successful event,” said Peggy McElveen, equestrian program director at St. Andrews. “Our team members were very competitive at the event and the many volunteers from the equestrian program who worked the paddock, barn and draw table helped us get through the classes throughout the day in an efficient way.”
