Women's Issues Club
The Women's Issues club meets twice a month to discuss and explore various issues facing women such as domestic violence, sexual assault and other critical issues. The club's activities include volunteering at a local crisis center and Scotia Village Retirement Community, movie night, guest speakers, and other activities that are suitable for the cause. We are currently working on an exciting project of renovating space on campus in the Liberal Arts building for a Women’s Resource Center. We want this place to be a central location for housing our resources on women’s issues. We will also provide information about services for women on campus and in the community. And it will be a comfortable place to hang out or have a meeting or a class. Click here for upcoming activities and projects We also have many books with helpful information and interesting stories revolving around women's issues. Our resource materials are currently available in Betsy Dendy’s office (Vardell 118).Click here for a list of resources Below are a few online resources, these links will provide information and addresses of centers throughout North Carolina. ~ North Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence ~ North Carolina Rape Crisis Centers If you need more information here are some contacts involved with the Women's Issues Club.
