Riding Council

A student branch of the St. Andrews Equestrian Program, the Riding Council enhances the riding experience for the student and serves the Equestrian Program Staff as an advisory board.  All participants in the St. Andrews Equestrian Program are members of the Riding Council.

The mission of Riding Council is to unite the entire equestrian program as one important entity.  Hunter seat, dressage, and western riders, along with therapeutic horsemanship, come together to create a club that not only represents the equestrians of St. Andrews, but believes in supporting the surrounding community as well.

One of the activities sponsored by the Riding Council is a "lip-sync" contest -- Air Band, which is open to the entire student body. The Riding Council also collects donations of canned-goods throughout the school year which are given to a local charity.  During the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, the club collects shoe boxes, which are filled with various items and shipped to hundreds of soldiers serving overseas.

The faculty sponsor of the Riding Council is Sarah Rhymer.
