Welcome Letter

Greetings from St. Andrews !

This is an exciting time of year for us as we prepare for our 2014 - 2015 academic year. We are pleased that you have chosen to be part of this dynamic living and learning environment.

Welcome to the St. Andrews family! We want to help you get the best start possible to your academic career and created this informational page just for you.

Below is a listing of the various pieces of the Student Affairs puzzle. These pieces work together to provide you with the best possible college experience outside the classroom from day one. Please note that your next step is to submit the required forms below.

  • Residential Services assists you in housing and roommate assignments or approving commuter status.
  • Student Health and Wellness provides a clinic with a caring staff to help you when you have a cold or the flu.  The R. N. can also refer you to area dentists, optometrists and physicians.  Also available is a licensed professional counselor who offers confidential services to help you with life’s transitions or can refer you to area care as needed.
  • Career Services will help you to identify your major, arrange an internship, prepare a resume, practice your interviewing skills, and assist you with your strategies for your job search for summer employment and upon graduation.
  • Student Activities helps you make the most of your free time through campus clubs, organizations and intramural opportunities and by helping you locate volunteer opportunities in the community.  Student Activities also brings some of the funniest comedians and hottest bands to campus.
  • Campus Safety provides around the clock security and safety coverage on campus.  If you want to bring a vehicle or bike to campus, this office will help you with the registration process.
  • Campus Ministry and Service provides support for worship and spiritual reflection as well as leadership for community service projects locally, nationally, and internationally.

In order to best serve your needs as an incoming student, we have created a list of required forms as a kind of checklist for joining our community. Each of these forms will be directed toward the appropriate campus office to facilitate the registration process. Please note that these do not include the academic forms that will be required to complete your academic registration process. You will receive more information on that process in May.

After you have completed and returned the relevant forms listed to the right, you will receive additional information regarding your roommate, a detailed Orientation schedule, and a list of the fun activities awaiting you on campus.

For the complete guide to our programs and policies, you are invited to familiarize yourself with The Saltire Student Handbook before arriving on campus.  Please let me know if you have questions or just want to talk about St. Andrews.

The Office of Student Affairs welcomes you and is looking forward to getting to know you!

Best wishes!
