St. Andrews has eight computer labs available to students in different buildings around campus.  Lab hours are posted in each lab.  Knight Life in Belk Center, Pipers Café, and Granville Hall are equipped with Wi-Fi.  All Residence Hall rooms have high-speed network connections in them to allow students to connect their personal computers to the Internet.  The Computer Network is owned solely by St. Andrews Presbyterian College.

Hardware Requirements

(for a new computer)

  • Intel or AMD Processor 2.3ghz or better
  • Windows 7 or Mac OS Lion
  • At least 4GB of RAM
  • CD/DVD Burner
  • 250 GB Hard drive or larger
  • 10/100 Network Adapter
  • Microsoft Office 2007 or Office 2010

Hardware Requirements
(for students with existing computers)

  • Intel or AMD computer with 2GHZ processor or better
  • Windows XP/Vista/7 or Mac OS Leopard
  • At least 2GB of RAM
  • At least 40 GB of free space on hard drive
  • 10/100 Network Adapter
  • CD-RW/DVD combo drive
  • Microsoft Office 20XX

Additional Recommendations

  • 2GB or larger USB flash drive
  • Computer network cable
  • Wireless networking adapter

Students at St. Andrews can purchase software like Office 2010 and Windows 7 with a discount through Varsity Buys. Details can be requested through Computer Services(email helpdesk@sapc.edu or call (910) 277-5014.

Telephone Requirements

St. Andrews recognizes that students rely on their cell phones for their primary means of communication. Therefore, Cisco VOIP land-line phones will be provided only by request. A student will indicate his/her preference on the Residency/Commuter Contract provided in this folder. When a student decides to have a land-line phone, he/she must agree to set up the voice mail.
