FACULTY POSITIONS

Assistant Professor of English: American Literature Generalist

St. Andrews Presbyterian College announces a tenure track position for an Assistant Professor of English with specialization in American Literature to begin August 2009 (Pending funding). Ph. D. required; additional credentials (MA or MFA) in Creative Writing preferred. The normal teaching load is four courses a semester, including  lower and upper level literature courses, freshman composition, and Creative Writing.  The successful candidate will be an American literature generalist with the ability to teach a wide range of courses, demonstrate enthusiastic and effective teaching at the undergraduate level, and maintain productive scholarship. Candidates should have a strong interest in interdisciplinary teaching and academic advising and be willing to serve on college-wide faculty committees. Candidates should be technologically capable with an interest in online instruction. Assistant Professor of Philosophy

Tenure-track beginning fall semester, 2009. A thorough grounding in the history of philosophy is desirable. Must have a strong interest in team teaching in an interdisciplinary general education program with a focus on western civilization, demonstrate enthusiastic and effective teaching at the undergraduate level, and maintain productive scholarship. Candidates should be technologically capable with an interest in online instruction.  (Position is available pending funding.)
