CALL TO WORSHIP (responsive) Abigail Skillman
One: We gather this day as Laurinburg Presbyterian Church:
All: A called out gathering of God's people since 1859.
One: We gather this day as St. Andrews University:
All: an institution of faith and higher learning established in 1958 as a result of a merger of Flora MacDonald College and Presbyterian Junior College.
One: We gather as God's people
All: to acknowledge God present in the world and in our lives.
One: We gather as a community of faith,
All: entrusting ourselves to God alone, even as the dividing walls of hostility are torn down. The Church is to be a community of witness, pointing beyond itself through word and work to the good news of grace in Christ Jesus its Lord.

PRAYER OF THE DAY JD Smith

*HYMN From Highland Peaks

*CALL TO CONFESSION Trent Harris

*PRAYER OF CONFESSION (unison)
Surrounded by so many seductions, Patient God, we find it difficult to see you in our lives. Justice has a hard time surviving when there is so much persecution and affliction towards the little ones of the world. Our neighborhoods, our families, even our churches, are filled with strife and contention. We cry for help, Merciful God; forgive us! As we wait for your grace to fill our lives, may we open our hearts to your hope and healing, always giving thanks for Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Though broken, in Christ may we be mended; separated from others, in Christ may we be made one; longing to serve, we are sent forth in the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Silent Prayer

*ASSURANCE OF PARDON
One: Friends believe the good news of the gospel.
All: In Jesus Christ we are forgiven.
One: Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us forgive one another. The peace of the Lord Jesus Christ be
with you all.
All: And also with you.

*CONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE 579 Gloria Patri (Greatorex)
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.

*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH (The Apostles Creed)
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

DEDICATION HYMN 542:4
Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; Praise God, all creatures here below;
Praise God above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.

*PRAYER OF DEDICATION (unison)
Caring God, we humble ourselves today by returning the bounty you first shared with us back to your care. Without pretension or self-righteousness, we resolve to be slow to judge and ready to provide aid. We strive to increase our commitment to be thoughtful, generous people. Help us to be unassuming in our service, yet bold in our witness. We pray in the name of the one who served you here on Earth, Jesus the Living Christ.

*THE LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
