St. Andrews women's tennis falls to Catawba

LAURINBURG, NC—Knights freshmen doubles pair of Ashley Walters (St. Pauls, NC) and Morgan Worthington (Kinston, NC) just missed giving St. Andrews a point at No. 1 doubles, dropping a close 8-6 match as visiting Catawba College swept host St. Andrew Presbyterian College 9-0 on Friday at the Scotland County Tennis Complex.

The Lady Indians improved to 7-8 overall while SAPC fell to 0-7.

Knights highlights included senior April Rowe (Elizabeth City, NC) winning four games in her first set before falling 6-4, 6-0 at No. 5 singles. Sophomore Kellie Milam (Emporia, Kansas) took two games in each set at No. 3.

St. Andrews will entertain Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference rival Converse College on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
