Box Score

Columbia, SC- Columbia College hosted St. Andrews for an exciting game of women’s soccer last night. SAU stepped up the offense and put pressure on the goal for the entire game, but was not able to find the net as they dropped the game 3-0 to the Fighting Koalas.

Keeping the Koalas (8-5-4) from running away with the game, Katie Jaskulski (Orlando, FL) snagged an impressive 14 saves in last night’s matchup. Five Knights (1-15-1) took a shot directly at Columbia, including Heather Cockburn (Whitby, Ontario, Canada), Hannah Wilson (Salisbury, NC), Shana Schroeder (Newark, NJ), Vilma Clayton (Lexington, SC), and Megan Jolly (Waterloo, NY); while Juliann Levesque (Greensboro, NC) blasted two shots at the goal.

The Koalas looked to sophomore Jessica Martinez for offensive leadership. Adding a hat-trick to her personal statistics, Martinez managed to score all three goals for Columbia; one of which was assisted by Clare Williamson. Koala keepers Lauren Zarefoss and Elise Grider protected the goal for Columbia by saving three and two respectively.

SAU women’s soccer will take the field for the last time in the 2011 season this coming Saturday, October 29. At 4:30 PM, the ladies will take on Coker College in Hartsville, SC.
