In their own words...
"Living on campus is a life experience I have learned so much from. We eat together, watch TV together, study together, and do absolutely nothing together. When I go home for breaks, it’s like I’m leaving my second family!"

Laurinburg, NC- The St. Andrews women’s soccer team took the field this afternoon for their last home contest of the season and enjoyed a special moment with family and friends as the team celebrated ‘Senior Day’ after today’s game. Hosting the Saints of Limestone College, the Knights played hard but could not find the net in the 5-0 loss.

Sophomore Katie Jaskulski (Orlando, FL) started in the goal for SAU (0-11 Conference, 1-14-1 Overall) and worked hard to protect the net for 81:16 minutes. Facing 18 shots on goal, Jaskulski saw five balls find their way into the net. Scoring the first Saints (7-3, 10-5) goal, Gabriella Reid blasted a low ball into the right side of the goal. Adding another goal for Limestone was Vanessa Jarrett, who used a corner kick from teammate Helen Winerburn to put a header into the goal out of Jaskulski’s reach. Ashley Alderin-Fleagle earned a hat trick in today’s Conference Carolinas match, leading the Saints to a final score of 5-0.

Seniors Chelsea Ross (Newark, NY) and Olivia Taylor (Fountain Inn, SC), along with freshman Heather Cockburn (Whitby, Ontario, Canada), tried to earn the Knights a goal against Kristin Alderin-Fleagle, who earned three saves during her 90:00 minutes as the Saints’ keeper.

Seniors Allie Hester (Salisbury, NC), Shana Schroeder (Newark, NY), Ross, and Taylor were all honored with a framed jersey and other gifts from the St. Andrews women’s soccer program during today’s ‘Senior Day’ festivities, to thank them for their hard work and dedication to the team. “Ladies, thank you for all that you have given to St. Andrews women’s soccer. We look forward to hearing about your many successes in the future,” said Head Coach Rohan Naraine.

With only a few games remaining, the ladies will continue to work hard and strive to add more wins to the books. The Knights will travel to Columbia, SC, on Wednesday, October 26 to take on the Koalas of Columbia College at 6:00 PM.
