St. Andrews Announces 2011 Women's Soccer Schedule

Laurinburg, N.C.— The St. Andrews Presbyterian College women’s soccer program announced its 18-game regular season schedule for the 2011 fall season.

The Lady Knights face a solid two months of soccer this season. The twelve Conference Carolinas competitions and six non-conference duals will all take place between September 3 and October 29. St. Andrews will participate in three scrimmage games in August to prepare for the strong competition to follow in September and October.

St. Andrews will begin regular season play at home. Spelman College will travel to Laurinburg on Saturday, September 3, to kick off the Lady Knights’ official season at 4:00 PM.

Conference play for the Lady Knights begins at Lees-McRae College (Banner Elk, NC). During the season, SAPC will also travel to Mount Olive College (Mount Olive, NC), Belmont Abbey College (Belmont, NC), King College (Bristol, TN), Pfeiffer University (Misenheimer, NC), and Coker College (Hartsville, SC).

SAPC has an even split of home and away conference games as they will challenge Barton College, Queens University of Charlotte, Erskine College, North Greenville University, Converse College, and Limestone College in Laurinburg at Knights Field on the campus of St. Andrews Presbyterian College.

The Lady Knights’ non-conference schedule consists of strong road competitors including Wingate University (Wingate, NC), Francis Marion University (Florence, SC), and Columbia College (Columbia, SC). While Spelman College, Chowan University, and Methodist University will all make the trek to Laurinburg this season.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 22. St. Andrews will host Conference Carolinas rival Limestone College at 1:00 PM and the SAPC soccer program will be holding ‘Senior Day’ to honor the seniors on the team.

The 2011 Conference Carolinas Tournament will once again be three-rounds with the top eight teams in the regular season standings qualifying for tourney. Teams earn three points for every regular season league win and one point for a tie. All three rounds will be contested at the higher seed with the quarterfinals on Monday, October 31; the semifinals on Thursday, November 3; and the finals on Saturday, November 5.
