PEMBROKE, N.C.—The University of North Carolina at Pembroke women’s soccer team scored four first half goals en route to a 7-0 non-conference victory against visiting St. Andrews Presbyterian College on Tuesday evening at Varsity Grounds.

Lefke Boysen turned in UNCP’s second hat trick of the season, with two of her teammates providing multi-assist outings, as the Braves improved to 11-5-1 on the season.

It was the seventh career multi-goal performance for the Bremen, Germany, native who also tallied her eight assist of the season for UNCP. Jamie Clarke and Faye Corbett each collected a pair of assists for the Black and Gold as well. Sarah Day, Alex McManus, Nisa Akins and Meredith Pierson finished off the scoring for the hosts.

Boysen got her side off the mark with a score just 31 seconds into the first half and, following Day’s goal in the 5th minute, would cushion the advantage out to 3-0 on another score at the 11:27 mark. Akins’ 38th minute goal would give the hosts a 4-0 edge, as well as a 15-2 shot disparity, heading into the intermission.

McManus got into the scorebook just over a minute into the second period and Boysen would finish off her hat trick 93 seconds later on Corbett’s second assist of the outing. Pierson would cap the night’s scoring on goal in the 86th minute.

Junior goalkeeper Garrison Burton (Atlanta, Ga.) made a game high 10 saves for the Lady Knights while classmate Kerrie Brown (Rochester, N.Y.) had two of the teams six shots.
