Lady Knights edge Fighting Koalas in overtime

COLUMBIA, S.C.—Senior Crystal-Olu Taylor (Raleigh, N.C.) scored a pair of goals including the game-winning golden goal to extend the St. Andrews Presbyterian College women’s soccer win streak to three games with a 3-2 overtime non-conference victory at Columbia College on Wednesday.

The Knights, who improved to 6-5-3 overall after extending their undefeated streak to six games, held a 2-1 lead at halftime. Olu-Taylor and senior Chrisy Stapleton (Allen Park, Mich.) each scored a first half goal. TheFighting Koalas fought back in the second half with the lone goal of the final 45 minutes to force the sudden-death overtime period.

Olu-Taylor ended the game with her fourth goal of the season in the first 10-minute overtime stanza. Senior Kerrie Brown (Rochester, N.Y.) assisted on the golden goal while junior Myra Miller (Atlanta, Ga.) assisted on Stapleton’s tally.

Knights
junior goalkeeper Garrison Burton (Atlanta, Ga.) made seven saves in net to pick up her sixth victory of the season.

St. Andrews hosts non-conference Chowan University on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
