Burton named conference women's soccer Player of the Week

THOMASVILLE, N.C.—St. Andrews Presbyterian College’s Garrison Burton (4-5-3 overall, 2-2-3 conf.) has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas women's soccer Player of the Week during week number six in the 2007 season.
The junior goalkeeper has not allowed a goal in her last seven hours of game action while recording a pair of Conference Carolinas shutouts this week. Burton has led St. Andrews to four consecutive shutouts and six shutouts in the team’s last seven games.
The Knights earned a scoreless double-overtime tie against Coker on Wednesday and a 1-0 victory at Lees-McRae on Saturday behind Burton's stellar play. The Atlanta, GA native made three saves over 110-minutes against the Cobras and five more saves verse the Bobcats.
St. Andrews is undefeated in their last five games against league competition as Burton has posted shutouts in all five contests (Barton, Converse, Limestone, Coker, Lees-McRae). Burton, who has not allowed a goal in the teams last 419 minutes of game action, has lowered her goals against average to under one goal per game (0.93) for the year.
