Belderes named new women’s lax coach at SAPC
July 8, 2005
LAURINBURG, NC—St. Andrews Athletic Director Howard Reichner announced that Stephen Belderes has been named head coach of the Knights women’s lacrosse program.
“I am very pleased and excited to have Stephen leading the women’s lacrosse program,” said Reichner.
Belderes expressed, “I am very excited about this opportunity and have high expectations for the future.”
Belderes becomes the second head coach of third-year program after serving as an assistant coach to the men’s lacrosse team for the past two years. In his two years with the men’s program the Knights finished in the upper half of the Deep South Conference (DSC) both times.
Belderes played his collegiate lacrosse at St. Andrews where he was a DSC Academic Team honoree, DSC All-Tournament Team selection and the recipient of the Knights Award.
