Laurinburg, N.C. – The Lady Knights (5-9, 2-3) were looking to get out of their recent slump Sunday as they took the field to square off against Conference Carolinas very own Lees McRae College (2-6, 0-3). The Lady Knights did just that as they dominated the game in all facets cruising to a 16-2 victory.
St. Andrews started things off early as Allie Faulhaber (Apex, NC) scored at the 28:39 mark of the first half. The Lady Knights kept things rolling as Kim McDaniel (Joppa, MD) scored three goals of her own in the half while Anna Egeln (Ponte Verda Beach, FL) and Megan Jolly (Waterloo, NY) each scored two goals of their own leading the Knights into halftime with an 8-2 lead, and in complete control.
The second half St. Andrews continued to find success as the Lady Knights kept their foot on the gas. All players who scored in the first would find the net again in the second along with Chelsea Ross (Newark, NY) and Brett Vyverberg (Pittsford, NY) joining the party. St. Andrews defense was impenetrable as they allowed zero goals in the second half as Meghan Powell saved six out of the seven shots taken in the half.
Leading the way on the day for the Lady Knights was Kim McDaniel (Joppa, MD) who finished with five goals. Megan Jolly (Waterloo, NY) was second with four goals and an outstanding six assists, while Anna Egeln (Pont Verda Beach, FL) managed to find the net three times herself. The Knights next game is at home on Wednesday when they play host to visiting Belmont Abbey College, game starting at 4 p.m.
