Laurinburg N.C. – The Lady Knight (0-1) opened the 2011 women’s lacrosse season hosting the Tars of Rollins College (2-0). The Knights came out gradual finding no goals in the first half, then picking up gusto netting two in the second. Goalie Megan Powell (Annapolis, MD) saved 22 of the 50 shots on the Knights goal. This intensity by Powell was not enough as the Knight fell to the Tars 20-2.

The Tars took the field ferocious out shot the Knight 49-9. SAPC found rhythm in the second half causing a total of 11 turnovers for the Tars, while collecting 35 ground balls.

Defender Shana Schroder (Newark, NY) led the Knights collecting the game high nine ground balls, while working to seize the game high five draw controls. Teammate Chelsea Ross (Newark, NY) matched Schroder also gathering nine ground balls. Knight Kim McDaniel (Joppa, MD) assisted Megan Jolly (Waterloo, NY) as she obtained the Knights first goal. Vyverberg (Pittsford, NY) found the opening feeding the ball to assist Allie Faulhaber (Apex, NC) as she collected the Knights final goal

. The Lady Knights next game is Saturday February 26, 2011 at 2pm as they host No.5 Limestone College.
