LAURINBURG, N.C.—Twelve different Lady Knights scored as the St. Andrews Presbyterian College women’s lacrosse team set new school records for margin of victory and most goals scored with a 24-0 Conference Carolinas victory over visiting Erskine College on a chilly Wednesday afternoon.

Freshman Cara Manas (pictured) has nine goals and two assists in a pair of Conference Carolinas games against Erskine College this this season.

The Knights, who are receiving votes in the IWLCA National Top-10 poll for the second straight week, improve to 6-4 overall and 4-3 in the conference. The Flying Fleet remains winless at 0-11 and 0-9.

SAPC scored on 61.5-percent of its shots as the hosts had held a commanding 39-4 shot advantage. The Knights jumped out to a 17-goal lead at halftime before netting seven more in the second half en route to the record-setting game.

Senior Katie Wright (Waterloo, N.Y.) scored just 21 seconds into play as St. Andrews lead from the opening minute. Wright finished with two goals and three assists. Wright is one goal away from 100 career goals at SAPC.

Junior Kerrie Brown (Irondequoit, N.Y.) led the Knights offensively with four goals and three assists for a seven-point performance. Brown is averaging 5.6 points per game. Senior Kelsey Binggeli (Newark, N.Y.) followed with a six-point act that featured a hat trick and three helpers.

Freshman Alesia Jerrells (Columbia, S.C.) had two of the Flying Fleets four shots on goal but the St. Andrews goalkeeper duo of senior Eryn McCaffrey (Cicero, N.Y.) and freshman Meghan Powell (Annapolis, Md.) each had two saves to preserve the Knights second shutout of the season. McCaffrey (6-4) picked up the win playing the first 30 minutes.

Freshman Cara Manas (Harwood, Md.) tied Brown with team-high four goal honors while adding one assist for five points.

Freshman Chelsea Ross (Newark, N.Y.) scored her first two collegiate goals. The Knights also got two goals off the sticks of sophomore Alexis Goldman (Winter Springs, Fla.) and freshman Nina Capuano (Lusby, Md.).

Freshman Anna Egeln (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.) netted her first collegiate goal; senior Katie Rhodes (Auburn, N.Y.) tallied her first goal in a Royal Blue & White uniform; and senior Alexa Muraida (Austin, Texas) scored her first goal of the season.

Senior Courtney Ross (Newark, N.Y.) and sophomore Kim McDaniel (Joppa, Md.) both had four draw controls as SAPC dominated play with a 21-6 advantage on draw controls. The Knights successful cleared the ball all nine times from their defensive third while the Fleet struggled in transition going 4-of-14 on clearing attempts. St. Andrews held a 26-12 edge on ground balls including a game-high four ground balls Muraida.

Courtney Ross finished with one goal and one assist while McDaniel chipped in with one goal.

Erskine freshman goalkeeper Kaitlyn Overley (Columbia, S.C.) made all eight of her saves in the first half.

St. Andrews will play its second straight home game against a first year program on Saturday, when the Knights host Converse College at 1 p.m.
