Brown named women's lacrosse Player of the Week

THOMASVILLE, N.C.—St. Andrews Presbyterian College’s Kerrie Brown (2-2 overall, 1-2 conf.) has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas women's lacrosse Player of the Week during week number one in the 2008 season.

Sophomore attack Kerrie Brown averaged 6.75 points per game for St. Andrews in the team’s first four games of the season. Brown totaled 16 goals, 11 assists, and 27 points in the four games. Brown scored at least a hat trick in all four games.

Brown was able to score three goals and provide on assist against No. 3 nationally ranked Limestone. On the next day, Brown had her most impressive game with a 10 point performance in a Conference Carolinas victory over Lees-McRae. Brown set school records with seven assists and 10 points in that game while also adding another hat trick. Brown then had five goals in two straight games against Methodist University and No. 9 nationally ranked Queens University of Charlotte. Brown added two helpers for a seven point day in the Knights victory against the Monarchs while capping the week with six points against the Royals.

Brown averages 4 goals, 2.75 assists, 6.75 points, and 2.5 draw controls per game this season.

Brown and the Lady Knights next host Rollins College on Friday afternoon at 4:00 p.m.
