Brown named CVAC women's lacrosse Player of the Week again!

THOMASVILLE, N.C.—Kerrie Brown of St. Andrews Presbyterian College (4-9 overall, 1-6 CVAC) has been selected as the NCAA Division II Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference (CVAC) women's lacrosse Player of the Week during week number five in the 2007 season for the second consecutive week.

Freshman Kerrie Brown led the St. Andrews women's lacrosse team to their first CVAC victory of the season this week with another offensive outburst. Brown had a game-high six goals and an assist to lead the Knights to the commanding 19-8 victory over CVAC foe Lees-McRae College on Saturday. Brown was also credited with the game-winning goal in that game. Brown capped the week with a four goal and one assist showing in St. Andrews loss to nationally ranked Queens on Sunday. The four goals against the Royals was a game-high. For the week Brown posted 10 goals, two assists, five draw controls, three ground balls, and two caused turnovers in just two games. On the season, the Rochester, N.Y., native leads the Knights with 47 goals, 14 assists, and 61 points. Brown also leads the CVAC with 3.62 goals per game.

The Lady Knights will next visit CVAC rival and No. 7 nationally ranked Limestone College (Gaffney, S.C.) on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.
