SAPC women's golf wraps up fall season at Patsy Rendleman October 16, 2007 SALISBURY, N.C.—The St. Andrews Presbyterian College women’s golf team concluded its fall portion of the 2007-08 season with a 13th place finish at the 2007 Patsy Rendleman Invitational hosted by Catawba College at the Country Club of Salisbury on Monday and Tuesday. The Lady Knights finished the 36-hole tournament with a two-day total of 761. Belmont Abbey College won the team title with a 633. Junior Alessandra Maurtua (Lima, Peru) led the St. Andrews golfers with a top-10 finish. Maurtua fired rounds of 77 and 80 on the 5,983-yard, par-72 layout to finish in 10th place out of 69 golfers. Maurtua’s opening five-over par 77 and her 36-hole total of 157 strokes were both season lows. Maurtua has a pair of top-10 results this fall. Senior Laura Correia (Centerville, Mass.) played bogey golf by signing scorecards of 91 and 89. Senior Sally McDaniel (Lowell, N.C.) posted a 91-112—203 and freshman Mariann Stark (Virginia Beach, Va.) concluded play with a 105-116—221. St. Andrews has the winter season to prepare for the spring portion of the schedule that will begin in February. |
