Greensboro, NC- The Knight competed in the Hagan Stone Classic yet again this year. The ladies of SAU worked their way to the middle of the rankings as a team and grabbed a 4th place team finish out of the six teams that ran in their division.
Freshman Hanna Hinrichsmeyer (Sueltzal, Germany) led the way for the Knights. Her time of 21:10.64 gave her a seventh place finish for her division, following several runners by mere seconds. Coming in second and third for the ‘Drew, Karlee Arnold (Columbia City, IN) and Anna Egeln (Ponte Vedra Beach, FL) finished within four seconds of each other with times of 22:44.63 and 22:47.88 respectively.
The final two scoring runners for SAU were Sara Hackney (Como, NC) and Dara Corbett (Mooresville, NC). Hackney took the 19 th finish for her division while Corbett snagged 28 th overall in her division and picked up the fifth spot for the team.
Franny Douala (Baltimore, MD) and Reba Maroldt (Wilmington, NC) each hit the trail for the Knights and took the six and seven spots respectively for SAU.
This Saturday, October 8, will mark the Knights’ last regular season race. Furman will host the Knights and a slew of other colleges and universities for the multi-division competition.
