Jessica Vanco

Jessica Vanco, Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame member (inducted May 21, 2011), enters her fourth season as the head coach of the St. Andrews University women’s basketball program after being hired in the summer of 2008. Vanco came to St. Andrews after spending four years as the head coach at Presbyterian College in Clinton, S.C. During her tenure at Presbyterian, Vanco coached the Blue Hose to a 21-win season in 2005/06, earning the distinction of being the most improved women’s basketball team in Division II (out of more than 280 colleges). Vanco was also instrumental in Presbyterian’s transition to NCAA Division I, including the program’s first win against a D-I opponent. Vanco was in charge of all areas of the PC women’s basketball program before becoming the new St. Andrews head coach. In addition to coaching the team at Presbyterian, Vanco successfully recruited student-athletes, supervised coaches and managers, oversaw all aspects of student-athlete academics, developed strength & conditioning program, and worked as a volunteer with the CHAMPS and Champions programs. Vanco brought a total of 10 years of coaching experience to the SAU women’s basketball program upon her arrival in 2008. Prior to becoming the head coach at Presbyterian, Vanco spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Division I Furman University (Greenville, S.C.) and one season at both the United States Military Academy (West Point, N.Y.) and Salem International University (Salem, W.Va.). In addition, Vanco also gained valuable coaching experience as a volunteer coach with the Boston University and La Selle College women’s basketball programs. The Medina, Ohio, native graduated from St. Bonaventure University (St. Bonaventure, N.Y.) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 1999. Vanco was a four-year letterwinner on the Bonnies women’s basketball team. She was the team’s most improved player as a junior and was a captain during her senior season. Vanco earned her Masters of Education with specialization in Counseling and Sports Psychology in 2000 from Boston University (Boston, Mass.). Vanco currently resides in Laurinburg, NC. |

Taylor Price

|
Taylor Price will be entering her second season as an assistant coach for the St. Andrews University women’s basketball program. As a NCAA Div. 1 player, Coach Price was a member of the Presbyterian College (Clinton, SC) women’s basketball squad for two years; playing for Jessica Vanco, who is now the Head Coach at St. Andrews. During her time at PC, Price gained valuable game experience by playing against nationally ranked teams, such as Georgia and West Virginia. Her hard work and dedication with the Blue Hose allowed her to rank in areas such as rebounding, blocked shots, and field goal percentage. Price brings a wealth of knowledge to the women’s basketball program, especially for the SAU post players. Being a former post player herself, Coach Price adds valuable insight to the Lady Knights’ paint play. In addition to her responsibilities on the court, Coach Price also serves as the team’s liaison for student-athlete academic support, team travel coordinator, assists with video exchange, and aids in player recruitment. The Fayetteville, NC, native received a BA in Political Science from Presbyterian College in 2009. While coaching at St. Andrews, Price is also doing graduate level work at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke as she pursues her Master’s Degree in Public Administration. Coach Price currently resides in Laurinburg, NC.
