MOUNT OLIVE, NC—St. Andrews junior guard Karen Foggie (Charlotte, NC) was named to the 2006 Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference All-Conference Honorable Mention list on Thursday for her outstanding play.
Foggie averaged 14.4 points, 5.11 rebounds, 1.86 assists, and 1.71 steals per game for the Knights in 2005/06. Foggie led St. Andrews in scoring and was third in rebounding. Foggie, who played in all 28 games this year, scored in double-digits in 22 games. Foggie, who averaged 28.0 points/game in the CVAC Tournament, scored a season-high 29 points against Barton in the CVAC quarterfinals.
The CVAC announced the All-Conference Teams, Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, and Freshmen of the Year award winners at the Honors Banquet during this weekend's CVAC Basketball Conference Championship Tournament. The banquet was held at the host institution, Mount Olive College. The women’s awards were first given out, followed by the men’s awards. Head Coaches from CVAC member institutions nominate and then vote upon the award winners who represent the best of the best for the conference.
