Box Score

Laurinburg, NC- Sophomore Rachel Hewitt (Kokomo, IN) and senior Brittany Roberts (Concord, NC) each put up a trio of three points for the Knights in this evening’s game as SAU hosted the Broncos of Fayetteville State University. FSU seemed to be unstoppable from the field as they sunk 30 from short range and took the Knights to an 86-60 loss tonight.

Roberts earned the team high of 15 points against the Broncos. In addition to her three’s, she posted one close jumper and found the basket four times from the line. Grabbing eight rebounds, Roberts was also the leading rebounder for the Knights, followed by Kimayah Fulcher (New Bern, NC) and Hewitt, who each earned seven.

Hewitt not only fired shots from behind the arc, but also added two from the paint. She led the team in assists by throwing three passes to her teammates that led directly to baskets for the Knights (0-5 Overall). Her versatile performance led her to earn both the Offensive and Defensive Player of the Game awards given out by the team.

Adding the second highest number of points for SAU, Rebecca Bryant (Cincinnati, OH) knocked down 14 total points. Bryant added points from all over the court, especially at the foul line where she went 5-7 (FTM-FTA).

The Knights will travel to Lenoir-Rhyne University on Monday, December 5, to take on the Bears at 6:00 PM.
