SAU Women's Basketball Falls to Francis Marion November 22, 2011
Senior Brittany Roberts (Concord, NC) went 9-14 (FT Made- FT Attempts) at the line tonight as she worked her way to a total of 14 points for the Knights (0-3 Overall, 0-0 Conference). Roberts also worked under the basket to tie with teammate Beneé Norton (Atlanta, GA) at seven rebounds each. Norton posted 10 points for SAU; earning the second highest number of points in tonight’s game on the St. Andrews squad. Roberts teamed up with Rebecca Bryant (Cincinnati, OH) and Rachel Hewitt (Kokomo, IN) to knock down the Knights’ only long range points, each earning one field goal from behind the arc. Under the hoop, SAU and Francis Marion matched up on defensive rebounds this evening as both teams claimed 21 defensive rebounds. In the end, the Knights were unable to slow down the Patriots' (1-2, 0-0) offense, especially FMU sophomore Emily Dunton. Dunton earned six three-pointers tonight, only missing three of her attempted long distance field goals, en route to posting 26 total points for the Patriots. The ladies of St. Andrews basketball will have a few days off before their next game, which is scheduled for Tuesday, November 29. The Knights will head to Murfreesboro, NC, to take on the Hawks of Chowan University at 5:30 PM next Tuesday. -GO KNIGHTS-
