Knights Volleyball Topped by Lees-McRaeOctober 29, 2011 SAU (0-15 Conference, 2-28 Overall) tried to keep up with the Bobcats’ (16-0, 22-8) offense. Allie Garland (Moreno Valley, CA) and Ashleigh Fritter (Midway Park, NC) each dug nine of LMC’s attacked balls, keeping the Bobcats at 38 kills from their 88 attempts; while, Ruka Akolade (Aurora, CO) added eight more digs for the Knights. Freshman Celia Duggan (Lugoff, SC) sent five balls straight to the floor, with Fritter putting down three kills. Winterville, NC, native Stephanie Lombardo sent two untouchable attacks onto the Bobcats’ side of the court. Ilaisha Hale (Moreno, CA), Megan Nelson (Edmonds, WA), and Garland each added one kill for a total of 13 for the Knights. Garland set six assists, accompanied by Nelson who put up two assists. The Knights will appear at Harris Court on Friday, November 4 at 7:00 PM to take on Queens University of Charlotte for their last home game of the season. Laurinburg, NC- The Knights hosted Conference Carolinas foe Lees-McRae for this afternoon’s women’s volleyball matchup. LMC maintained their undefeated status in conference play as they overcame the Knights 3-0 (16-25, 9-25, 7-25).
