LAURINBURG, N.C.—For the second straight year senior Lindsay Stansbury (Morgan City, La.) was named to the Conference Carolinas All-Conference Volleyball Second Team for St. Andrews Presbyterian College. Sophomore Galina Podolsky (Raleigh, N.C.) was also honored as an All-Conference Honorable Mention selection.

Conference Carolinas announced the 2007 award winners at their annual Volleyball Honors Banquet that was hosted by Anderson University on Saturday morning. Awards include All-Conference First, Second, and Honorable Mention teams, Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, Freshman of the Year, & Regular Season Champions. Head coaches from conference member institutions nominate and then vote on the award winners who represent the best of the best for the league.

Stansbury concludes her two year career at St. Andrews as a two-time All-Conference Second Team selection. The outside hitter started all 37 matches for the Lady Knights and led the team with 3.0 kills per game. Stansbury, who ripped 400 spikes on the season, also averaged 3.1 digs/game and 0.5 blocks/game. Stansbury finished the year with 19 double-doubles and match-highs of 22 kills, 21 digs, 6 total blocks, and 5 service aces.

In just two seasons in a Knights uniform, Stansbury accumulated 840 kills (3.24 KPG), 906 digs (3.50 DGP), 123 total blocks (0.47), 80 aces (0.31 APG), and 999.5 points

Podolsky, the 2006 Conference Freshman of the Year, was once again recognized as one of the leagues top players by being voted to the 2007 Honorable Mention list. The middle blocker led SAPC with 1.0 block per game in 31 starts. Podolsky, who averaged 2.45 kills per game, also led the Lady Knights with a .204 hitting percentage. Podolsky had match-highs of 16 kills, 10 total blocks, 9 digs, and 4 service aces in ’07. Podolsky concluded her second season at St. Andrews with 272 kills, 110 total blocks, 87 digs, and 42 aces.
