Hayes named to ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District volleyball team

November 7, 2007

LAURINBURG, N.C.—St. Andrews Presbyterian College sophomore setter Jaime Hayes (Gulf Breeze, Fla.) was selected to the 2007 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District volleyball team sponsored by CoSIDA on Thursday.

Hayes was named to the District 3 College Division Second Team of the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® program, as voted upon by Sports Information Directors who are members of CoSIDA, after having an outstanding second season on the court for the Lady Knights while also excelling in the classroom at St. Andrews.

Hayes -- a Dean’s List student and conference Presidential Honor Roll award recipient as a member of the St. Andrews Honors Program -- was the Knights starting setter in all 37 matches this season. Hayes was amongst the league leaders in Conference Carolinas by averaging 9.8 assists per game. Hayes also averaged over three digs per game.

NOTE: To be nominated the student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) for his/her career. No athlete is eligible until he/she has reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at his/her current institution (thus, true freshmen, red-shirt freshmen and ineligible transfers are not eligible).
