GAFFNEY, S.C.—Freshman Leah Davison (Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.) led the visiting St. Andrews Presbyterian College volleyball team with 13 kills but host Limestone College prevailed -- 30-23, 30-17, 30-24 -- in Friday nights Conference Carolinas match.

Melissa Thomas ( Easley, SC) led the hosts with 11 kills while picking up a career-high five blocks. The Saints advanced to 16-14 overall, 14-3 in conference play, while St. Andrews dropped to 10-21, 9-9 on the season.

For St. Andrews, Davison and senior Tara Lemieux (Panama City, Fla.) led the hitters with 13 and 10 kills respectively, while sophomore Jaime Hayes (Gulf Breeze, Fla.) pushed up 37 assists. Defensively, three Knights recorded double-digit digs as senior Erin Haugen (Fort Mill, S.C.) led the trio with 18. Lemieux and classmate Lindsey Stansbury (Morgan City, La.) added 14 and 11 a piece. Sophomore Galina Podolsky (Raleigh, N.C.) controlled the net for the Knights picking up five blocks.  Podolsky also led the team in aces with three.

Chelsea Anthony (Pickens, S.C.) led the Saints defensive effort picking up 19 digs and Samantha Flannery (Acworth, Ga.) added five blocks.  Laura Kerrison (Charleston, S.C.) controlled the offense handing out 26 assists. Anthony and Kerrison served up four aces a piece. Ashley Hubbard (Temple, Texas) had a strong all around performance with six kills, three aces and five blocks. Samantha Flannery (Acworth, GA) also added six kills and three blocks.

St. Andrews wraps up its non-conference portion of its schedule with a road tri-match on Saturday in Augusta, Ga. The Knights compete against Armstrong Atlantic State at 1:00 p.m. followed by host Augusta State at 4:00 p.m.
