HARTSVILLE, S.C.—For the second straight night senior Lindsey Stansbury (Morgan City, La.) ripped 22 kills for the St. Andrews Presbyterian College volleyball team, but this time the Knights were unable to pull out the road victory falling to Conference Carolinas rival Coker College 30-22, 30-21, 28-30, 30-23 on Tuesday.
Stansbury tied her season-high kill total with her 22 spikes. Stansbury also added 18 digs for her 12th double-double of the season.
Coker improved to 13-13 overall and 10-4 in the league behind Megan Haupt’s 17 kills and 24 digs.
The Knights, who fell to 10-18 and 9-7, received a team-high .283 hitting percentage from Stansbury.
Senior libero Erin Haugen (Ft. Mill, S.C.) led four Knights defenders with double-digit digs with 20 saves. Junior Liz Windham (Wartrace, Tenn.) had a season-high 15 digs and freshman Katie Lovett (Concord, N.C.) made 12 digs.
Freshman Kelly Williams (Laurel, Md.) connected for 14 kills to join Stansbury as the only SAPC netters with double-digit kills.
Freshman Leah Davison (Palos Verde Estates, Calif.) totaled a team-high seven blocks and five kills. Sophomore setter Jaime Hayes (Gulf Breeze, Fla.) chipped in with 41 assists, eight digs, and four blocks.
St. Andrews competed against the Cobras without the team-leader in kills per game, senior Tara Lemieux (Panama City, Fla.), but she will be back in action when the Knights host conference foe Pfeiffer University during ‘Senior Day’ on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
