MISENHEIMER, N.C.—Freshman Galina Podolsky (Raleigh, N.C.) posted a team-high .255 hitting percentage for the weekend as the Lady Knights volleyball team split a pair of CVAC road matches. After dropping a 3-0 (30-19, 30-21, 30-18) contest against CVAC-leading Lees-McRae College on Friday night, St. Andrews rebounded with a hard-fought 3-2 (28-30, 30-20, 30-22, 31-33, 15-9) win at Pfeiffer University on Saturday.
The Lady Knights remain over .500 on the year after this weekends split, holding onto a 17-16 overall record and a 10-7 ledger in the conference. SAPC next hosts CVAC rival Belmont Abbey College on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
St. Andrews 3 (28, 30, 30, 31, 15) vs. Pfeiffer 2 (30, 20, 22, 33, 9)
Senior Kim Harper (Boca Raton, Fla.) had a season-high 67 assists and nine digs to lead the Lady Knights to their fourth victory in their last five games and 10th CVAC win of the year in Saturday’s 3-2 win over Pfeiffer in Misenheimer, N.C.
Junior Lindsey Stansbury (Morgan City, La.) had a team-high 18 kills while senior Jesi Bewley (Cincinnati, Ohio) and junior Tara Lemieux (Panama City, Fla.) had 15 kills apiece as St. Andrews improved to 3-1 on the season in five-game matches.
Junior Erin Haugen (Fort Mill, S.C.) becomes the second Lady Knight to reach 30 digs in a match on Saturday, helping SAPC sweep the regular season series against the Lady Falcons. Senior Lauren McManus (Raleigh, N.C.) and Lemieux followed Haugen’s 30 digs with 17 digs apiece.
Podolsky, who hit a team-high .273, spiked 13 kills, made seven blocks, and served up a team-high five aces.
St. Andrews 0 (19, 21, 18) vs. Lees-McRae 3 (30, 30, 30)
The Lady Knights only two loses in their last seven matches have come against regionally ranked Lees-McRae. The Lady Bobcats took the 3-0 victory in Banner Elk, N.C. on Friday as St. Andrews only hit .038 for the contest.
Stansbury and Podolsky led the Knights, respectively, with seven and six kills. Podolsky hit a team-high .222.
Harper provided 25 assists and Haugen scooped up 18 digs. Harper and Stansbury followed with 11 digs apiece.
