St. Andrews volleyball falls at Anderson

ANDERSON, S.C.—Amanda Edwards recorded 20 kills and 13 digs and Heather Swain contributed 11 kills and 17 digs to lead Anderson University to a 3-1 (29-31, 30-28, 30-28, 30-17) victory over St. Andrews Presbyterian College in a CVAC match Saturday afternoon at the Abney Center.

Anderson snapped a five-match losing streak and improved to 14-12 overall and 8-4 in the CVAC. St. Andrews fell to 12-14, 5-5.

Also contributing to Anderson's winning effort were Leanna Willis with nine kills and 22 digs, Shaunte' Heyward with nine kills and four blocks, and Beth Lawson with nine kills and three blocks. Anderson setter Jessica Pedrick had 53 assists.

St. Andrews was led by Lindsey Stansbury with 18 kills and 18 digs, Galina Powolsky with 17 kills, and Erin Haugen with 25 digs. Tara Lemieux and Jesi Bewley added 10 and nine kills, respectively. Kim Harper had 51 assists and 12 digs. Podolsky served up a team-high three aces while Bewley made 13 digs.

The Lady Knights next visit CVAC rival Mount Olive on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
