GREENEVILLE, TENN.—The St. Andrews Presbyterian College volleyball team capped a long day with a 3-0 (30-10, 30-18, 30-20) victory over Johnson C. Smith University after falling to host Tusculum 3-1 (25-30, 30-20, 30-22, 30-28) and Lander 3-0 (32-30, 33-31, 30-18) earlier on Saturday in the 2006 Pioneer Volleyball Classic at the Pioneer Arena.
The Knights maintain a 7-7 overall record after this weekend’s tripleheader. SAPC will visit Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference foe Queens University of Charlotte on Monday at 6:30 p.m.
Freshman Galina Podolsky (Raleigh, N.C.) led the Knights attack on the day totaling 41 kills and a .480 hitting percentage over 10 games.
St. Andrews 1 (30, 20, 22, 28) vs. Tusculum 3 (25, 30, 30, 30)
The Knights opened up with a four-game loss in the morning against host Tusculum. Podolsky led St. Andrews with 15 kills and a .344 hitting percentage while senior Jesi Bewley (Cincinnati, Ohio) and juniors Tara Lemieux (Panama City, Fla.) and Lindsey Stansbury (Morgan City, La.) each had 11 kills.
Senior Kim Harper (Boca Raton, Fla.) tied her season-high total of 51 assists against the Pioneers. Harper also added 17 digs and three aces. Lemieux offered up 12 digs and two aces while Bewley had one solo block and two block assists. Junior Erin Haugen (Fort Mill, S.C.) scooped up a team-high 24 digs.
St. Andrews 0 (30, 31, 18) vs. Lander 3 (32, 33, 30)
Stansbury had a strong performance in a 3-0 loss to Lander University with 13 digs, eight kills, and two block assists. Podolsky’s play featured 14 kills (.481 hitting %), three service aces, and three block assists.
Harper chipped in with 34 assists and 12 digs against the Bearcats. Haugen and senior Lauren McManus (Raleigh, N.C.) had 13 and 12 digs, respectively. Lemieux totaled two block assists.

Podolsky continued her torrid offensive play with 12 kills and zero errors on 16 attempts for a .750 hitting % in a straight-game sweep of Johnson C. Smith. Podolsky also had five aces and two block assists.
Bewley served up a team-high six aces out of the Knights 20 total aces against the Golden Bulls. McManus had three aces and Bewley had two block assists. Freshman Tyler Lee (Hillsborough, N.C.) had a team-high four block assists while Haugen supplied 10 digs. Harper dished up 20 assists and freshman Jaime Hayes (Gulf Breeze, Fla.) set up 10 assists.
