2005 CVAC Volleyball Tournament
Hosted by St. Andrews Presbyterian College Lees-McRae wins 2005 CVAC Volleyball Tournament November 13, 2005
LAURINBURG, NC—In the finals of the 2005 CVAC Volleyball Tournament No. 2 seed Lees-McRae College defeated No. 1 seed Mount Olive College 3-0 (30-23, 30-27, 30-24) to win the CVAC Tournament Championship Sunday afternoon in Harris Court on the campus of St. Andrews Presbyterian College. The Bobcats improved to 27-10 and earned an automatic berth to the Atlantic Regional of the 2005 NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Championship. The Trojans fell to 28-7 and will wait until tonight to find out if they get an at-large bid to the Atlantic Regional. Junior outside hitter Lacie Smith (Knoxville, TN) was named the 2005 CVAC Volleyball Tournament MVP while teammates freshman Valia Petrova (Sofia, Bulgaria) and junior Amanda Huffaker (Maryville, TN) were selected to the All-Tournament Team. Junior Anna Luft (Swansboro, NC) and sophomore Sam Mitchell (Boyd, WI) made the All-Tournament team for Mount Olive. Andrea Manuel (Coker) and Elizabeth Roberds (Converse) rounded out the All-Tournament Team. NOTE: Trojan senior outside hitter Heidi Busch (Ft.
