Due West, S.C. – On Saturday the Lady Knights (3-20, 1-9) took to the field as they competed against Erskine College (11-8-1, 4-2) in a Conference Carolinas doubleheader. This proved to be a tough trip for St. Andrews as they had trouble finding any offense and subsequently lost both games.
The first game the Knights found themselves behind in an early deficit that they just could not bounce back from. Erskine had multiple runs in the first and third innings, while St. Andrews could not seem to dial in offensively leading to them dropping the first game 5-0 while only putting together two hits.
The second game of the day looked promising as the Knights jumped out to a 2-0 lead off of an Erskine error and held it until the bottom of the fifth where Erskine piled up four runs off of three hits. St. Andrews could not answer back as Erskine compiled another two runs in the sixth bringing the game to its final score of 6-2 in favor of Erskine College. The Lady Knights will take the field at Limestone College against the Saints on March 20, 2011 with the doubleheader starting at 1:30 p.m.
