LAURINBURG, N.C.— The Lady Knights (2-7 overall) hosted the Trojans of Anderson College (10-3 overall) in a softball doubleheader match up Sunday.

GAME ONE: Anderson 5, St. Andrews 2

Anderson took the lead in the first inning collecting two run. The Trojans gathered their third run in the top of the third as Emily Monteith scored her second run of the game. Knight Kimberly Baird (Lexington GA) doubled down the infield line in the bottom of the third scoring teammate Lex Cowger (Indian Head, MD). Baird stayed on the bases steeling third and then steeling home for the Knights second and final run. Anderson followed up in the fourth with a run by Kelly McInnes. In the top of the seventh the Trojans brought in their final run as Amber Duncan came across the plate. Ashley Disque (Prince Fredrick, MD) took the loss for the Knights striking out six of the 29 Trojans at bat.

GAME TWO: Anderson 13, St. Andrews 0

Anderson scored 13 times in the second game as the Knights struggled to make it home. Alyssa Carlson (Chesapeake, VA) was the only Knight to make a hit singling the ball up the middle. Carlson advanced to second as teammate Disque was hit by the pitch. The Lady Knights were unable to produce a single run during the second game. Disque took the second consecutive loss for the Lady Knights striking out one of the 16 Trojans at bat.
