LAURINBURG, N.C.—St. Andrews Presbyterian College sophomore outfielder Jasmine Dobbin (Pikeville, N.C.) has been selected to the First Team of the Daktronics Softball All-Southeast Region on Tuesday as voted upon by the region’s Sports Information Directors.

Jasmine Dobbin (pictured) was named to the Daktronics All-Southeast Region First Team on Tuesday after a dominating sophomore season.

Dobbin concluded a stellar sophomore season that included being named a First Team Conference Carolinas All-Conference honoree for the second straight year. Dobbin also was a Conference Carolinas All-Tournament selection and a Conference Carolinas Player of the Week in 2009.

Dobbin led the Lady Knights with a .425 batting average, 65 hits, 49 runs, 29 stolen bases, and six triples. Dobbin had impressive numbers across the board including a .627 slugging percentage and a .477 on-base percentage in 2009.

The two-time First Team All-Conference honoree finished her second season in a Royal Blue & White uniform ranked fourth in the conference in batting average, slugging percentage, and on-base percentage. Dobbin scored 49 runs on the season, crossing home plate 13 more times than any other player in the league.

The speedy left-handed batter also led the conference in triples and stolen bases and is nationally ranked in both categories.

Dobbin hit safely in 38-of-48 games this past season and strung together a seven-game hit streak on three separate occasions this year. Dobbin has a .376 career batting average midway through her collegiate career.

Members of the First Team Southeast All-Region team will appear on the national All-America ballot.
