DUE WEST, S.C.—Junior third baseman Danyell Marquez (Riverside, Calif.) crushed her team-high fifth home run of the season for visiting St. Andrews Presbyterian College in a 9-1 and 9-0 Conference Carolinas doubleheader loss at Erskine College on Saturday afternoon.
The Flying Fleet improve to 16-12 overall and 3-1 in the conference after posting the pair of five-inning victories. The Lady Knights stumble to 13-16 and 3-5.
The Knights only had six hits on the day with Marquez and sophomore shortstop Jasmine Dobbin (Pikeville, N.C.) both hitting safely in both games.
St. Andrews visits non-conference Newberry College on Sunday at 2 p.m.
GAME ONE: Erskine 9, St. Andrews 1 (5 innings)

Marquez blasted her fifth home run of the season in the fifth inning to pull the Knights within two runs, 3-1, but Erskine exploded for six runs in the bottom of the fifth to pick up the 9-1 victory via the NCAA eight-run rule.
Junior starter Lauren Gunter retired the first nine batters for the Flying Fleet before Dobbin broke up the no-hit bid with a leadoff double in the top of the fourth. Erskine scored three runs in the bottom of the third which was highlighted by a two-run homer by senior Katee Knapp.
Marquez increased her team-high RBI total to 26 with her solo home run that broke up the shutout attempt by Knapp.
Erskine ripped five of its eight hits in the fifth inning. Junior Melinda Bowman ended the game with a bases-clearing, three-run double that extended the hosts lead to eight runs.
Gunter improved to 8-5 in the five-strikeout, complete-game victory. Freshman starter Ashley Disque (Prince Frederick, Md.) took the loss allowing nine runs on eight hits and four walks. Disque (4-11) had one strikeout.
Junior Kailee Munden (LaVerne, Calif.) had the Knights third and final hit in the opener.
GAME TWO: Erskine 9, St. Andrews 0 (5 innings)

Junior Rebekah George tossed a three-hit shutout to lead the Flying Fleet to a 9-0 victory in the nightcap as Erskine completed the conference sweep. George (6-4) had six strikeouts in the victory.
Erskine scored a trio of runs in three straight innings starting in the second to pull away to another five-inning win. Sophomore Lindsey LaPrad had a hit and scored a run in all three frames. Junior Courtney Davis knocked in a game-high four runs.
Junior starter Sarah Applegarth (Gainesville, Ga.) allowed nine runs on 13 Erskine hits. Applegarth (9-5) had the Knights only extra-base hit with a double in to lead off the second.
