HIGH POINT, N.C.—St. Andrews Presbyterian College’s Jasmine Dobbin (12-13 overall, 2-2 conf.) has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas softball Player of the Week during week six in the 2009 season.
Sophomore shortstop Jasmine Dobbin helped the St. Andrews Presbyterian College softball team to a pair of road splits to start league play this week against the two teams that were picked to finish first and second in the Conference Carolinas Preseason Poll by batting .562 with five RBI, six runs, three stolen bases, two doubles, one triple, and one home run in four games.
Dobbin had three hits including a double and a triple to go along with two RBI and three runs scored in an 11-3 victory over the defending Conference Carolinas regular season champions, Coker College, on Wednesday.
Dobbin capped the week with six more hits in a doubleheader split at the defending Conference Carolinas Tournament champions, Pfeiffer University, on Thursday. Dobbin helped the Knights with a 7-6 marathon victory over the Falcons in the nightcap with three singles and two stolen bases.
The Pikeville, N.C., native had a perfect fielding percentage in 24 attempts at shortstop for the week. For the season, Dobbin is batting .407 with 15 stolen bases, 15 RBI, 27 runs, three triples, and three home runs.
