TIGERVILLE, S.C.—The St. Andrews Presbyterian College men’s soccer team scored a season-high four goals in a 4-2 non-conference victory at North Greenville University on Saturday afternoon.
Junior Justin Garton (Germantown, Md.) scored the bookend goals on the day as the Knights improved to 4-2-1 on the season. Garton scored the first goal on a freshman Chris Weedon (San Angelo, Texas) assist.
Max Duarte’s goal tied the contest at 1-1 before halftime for the winless Crusaders (0-4).
After the intermission, senior Jerry Momoh (Trenton, N.J.) once again put SAPC on top with his team-high fourth goal of the season. Freshman Brian Humphrey (Jacksonville, N.C.) assisted on Momoh’s score.
North Greenville was able to even the match for a second time when they were given a penalty kick opportunity. Duarte stuffed away the free shot for his second goal on the afternoon.
Freshman Curtis Kiyabu (Kapolei, Hawaii) put the Knights ahead for good with the eventual game-winner. Kiyabu’s goal on a sophomore Andrew Johnson (Sterling, Va.) assist was his first collegiate goal.
Garton added a late insurance tally for St. Andrews by stuffing away the soccer ball into the back of the Crusaders net for the second time. Garton has three goals on the season.
Junior netminder Nick Stevens (Kernersville, N.C.) picked up his fourth win of the year by making seven saves.
