St. Andrews Announces "Knights-of-the-Month":
Allie Garland and Corey Francis

Laurinburg, NC- The St. Andrews University Athletic Department has selected Allie Garland and Corey Francis as the “Knights-of-the-Month”. The honor is representative of the student-athletes’ accomplishments from the previous month, not only on the field, but also in the classroom and on campus.

Freshman Allie Garland has been selected as the Female Knight of the Month for her accomplishments during the month of October. As a member of the SAU Women’s Volleyball team, the Moreno Valley, California, native has reached many milestones in her career. After only one competitive season, Allie has managed to earn 80 kills, 41 assists, 15 service aces, four assisted blocks, and one solo block. Putting her as a leader in the conference, Allie also earned an impressive 448 digs this season; an astounding feat for a freshman player. Even though her season is over, Allie can still be found around Harris Court; where she will be working as one of the Women’s Basketball managers this season.



Corey Francis, a goal keeper for the SAU Men’s Soccer team, has been selected as the Male Knight of the Month for his superb play in the month of October. Corey started every game for St. Andrews this season, a great accomplishment for a freshman keeper. During his 1532:01 minutes in goal, Corey managed to earn a .744 save percentage. Corey recorded every win for the Knights and also put a tie in the books for the ‘Drew. Corey pulled down 125 saves this season, earning him the number one spot in the conference by an impressive 22 saves. Off the field, Corey participates as an active member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
