LAURINBURG, N.C.—The St. Andrews Presbyterian College athletic department has announced three administrative appointments for the new academic calendar year including Elizabeth Burris being promoted to associate director of athletics. Other changes include a new administrative assistant to the AD and a new assistant director of athletics for facilities.
Coach Burris will assume all responsibilities in assisting Director of Athletics Glenn Batten as Associate Director of Athletics. Burris, who served as an assistant AD last year, will also continue to handle her roles as head softball coach and director of NCAA compliance.
“The advancement of Liz Burris to Associate Director of Athletics is in recognition of all the hard work she has done in our administration,” said Batten. “She is respected throughout the college community and I have full confidence in her new position.”
Jim Walters has been named the new assistant director of athletics for facilities at St. Andrews. After eight years of coaching in the Knights athletics department, Coach Walters will step into his new role of maintaining the day-to-day operations of the athletics facilities including the PE Building and the outdoor game fields. Walters will also coordinate game management staff for home events.
“Jim [Walters] brings a coaches perspective to facilities and his hard work and loyalty to Knights athletics is a great asset to us,” commented Batten.
St. Andrews has announced Melody Yarborough as the Knights administrative assistant to the director of athletics. Yarborough worked the SAPC financial aid office but will be making the transition to athletics this summer.
“Melody’s [Yarborough] experience in financial aid will be a great benefit to us and I am eager to have her working in athletics after the 4th of July holiday,” concluded Batten.
