HIGH POINT, N.C.—St. Andrews Presbyterian College’s Alyson Trovato has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas women's track Athlete of the Week during week number two in the 2009 outdoor season.
Senior Alyson Trovato won both distance events she competed in to pace the St. Andrews women's track & field team at the Braves Classic hosted by UNC Pembroke last Wednesday.
Trovato set a new SAPC school record in the 1500m Run with a scorching time of 4:54.51. Trovato defeated 12 other runners and easily won the title by over 24 seconds. Trovato added a 22 second victory in the 3000m Run with another blazing time of 10:42.65.
The Cedar Park, Texas, native’s times in both events are currently the fastest posted times in those events out of all Conference Carolinas track & field athletes for 2009.
