Falcons men's tennis edges St. Andrews
March 21, 2007 MISENHEIMER, N.C.—Junior Andres Centeno (Porto Viejo, Ecuador) and senior Juan Carlos Arcila (Medellin, Columbia) each won their singles match for St. Andrews Presbyterian College but host Pfeiffer University squeeked out a 6-3 CVAC men’s tennis victory on Wednesday afternoon. Seniors Daniel Reuben (Esher, Surrey, England) and Cory Fleck (Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada) teamed up for the Knights first point of the day winning at No. 2 doubles, 8-6. Centeno battled hard in the third singles draw pulling out a 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 victory for SAPC. Arcila earned the Knights final point with a straight-set 7-5, 6-3 victory at No. five singles. St. Andrews will next travel to Wilson, N.C., this weekend for three matches in the 2007 North-South Dual Matches hosted by Barton College. The Falcons improved to 4-9 on the season and 1-3 in the CVAC while the Knights fell to 1-9 overall and 0-6 in the league.
