St. Andrews men's tennis falls to Catawba

LAURINBURG, NC—Knights junior Daniel Reuben (Esher, Surrey, England) and sophomore Andres Centeno (Porto Viejo, Ecuador) both helped St. Andrews Presbyterian College win seven games, but visiting Catawba College won the non-conference men’s tennis match 9-0 on Friday at the Scotland County Tennis Complex.

The Indians improved to 12-4 overall while SAPC fell to 1-5.

St. Andrews highlights included Centeno and doubles partner Juan Carlos Arcila (Medellin, Columbia) winning three games at No. 2 doubles. Reuben won the most games for the Knights in singles, but fell 6-2, 6-4 at No. 1. Centeno dropped a 6-3, 6-1 match at No. 2.

St. Andrews will travel to Banner Elk, North Carolina, for a Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference showdown against Lees-McRae College on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
