Queens men's tennis sweeps Knights, 9-0

LAURINBURG, NC—The St. Andrews Presbyterian College men’s tennis team dropped a 9-0 Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference men’s tennis match at host Queens University of Charlotte on Friday afternoon at the Royals Varsity Tennis Courts.

The Knights fell to 1-4 overall and 1-3 in the CVAC.

Junior Juan Carlos Arcila (Medellin, Columbia) provided the Knights with two close matches. Arcila and partner sophomore Andres Centeno (Porto Viejo, Ecuador) lost a very close 9-8 match at No. 2 doubles. Arcila then lost a hard fought 6-2, 6-3 No. 3 singles match.

SAPC lost the other two doubles matches by matching 8-1 scores.

Junior Daniel Reuben (Esher, Surray, England) battled hard at No. 1 singles, losing 6-2, 6-3. Centeno dropped a 6-3, 6-0 match at No. 2; junior Cory Fleck (Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada) fell 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4; sophomore Juan Pablo Burgos (Guayaquil, Ecuador) fell 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5; and freshman Sam Perlmutter (Jacksonville, FL) lost 6-0, 6-1 at No. 6.

The Knights will host Catawba College on Friday, March 17 at 3:00 p.m.
